Adel Lions honor one of their own
Adel Lions honor one of their own
From The Dallas County News, Friday, February 13:
In a special meeting and ceremony, the Adel Lions Club honored one of their own on Wednesday, Feb. 5. Murray Luther has been an active member of the Adel Lions Club for 48 years, having joined the club in December 1960. Luther is the oldest active member of the Adel Lions Club.
Luther, a retired Dallas County Treasurer, was roasted and toasted by his fellow Lions during the evening. The central theme of the accolades centered around Luther's outstanding character and dedication to the ideals of Lionism.
Many of Luther's character attributes, and a few flaws, were shared by some of his fellow Lions all in lighthearted atmosphere.
Keith Soffa, chair of the award committee said, "Murray is being recognized this evening for his sincere and devoted effort to improving the lives of those around him".
Joining Luther in the dinner meeting were his son, Dennis; his grandson, Steve; and his great grandson, Connor.

Congratulations to the following ADM Middle School students, winners of this year's Peace Poster contest. Cierra Button's poster took first place, Haley Canney was second and Ross Reynolds was third. Once again Mrs. Silverio was a great help with the contest.

Lions Quest Program
Lions Quest Program
The Adel Lions Club partnered with the Adel DeSoto Minburn School District to purchase educational materials and train staff for the Lions Quest program. The Adel Lions Club was the original supporter of the program more than 20 years ago and is proud to partner with the school once again.
Lions Quest is a schools-based life-skills program for children from kindergarten to 12th grade. Through Quest, youths grow into solid citizens when they learn how to make responsible decisions, communicate effectively and avoid drugs. Lions originally partnered with Quest International in 1984 and it became an official Lions program in 2002. Lions Quest is currently active in 47 countries and program materials have been translated into 24 languages.
Pictured in the photo are representatives of the ADM School, students in the Quest program, and members of the Adel Lions Club.
