My time as CR Noon Lions Club president is up. I would like to thank every member of the club who stepped up and helped out with our various club activities. Because of your efforts we were able to meet our budget and achieve our service objectives. I hope that every one will give our new club president, officers and directors the same degree of help and assistance during the coming year.

The past twelve months were marked with extreme weather that surely had an effect on meeting attendance. Snow, ice, rain and floods -- all we lacked were earthquakes and forest fires. Let's hope that the coming year treats us all a little more gently!

Thanks to those who were able to recruit new members, too. Attracting and retaining good people is essential for our club, and indeed for any organization. So let's keep up our efforts in this respect. We also need to recruit internally to fill various jobs. For example, our club needs people to head up our Golf Tourney committee and to be program chairs for the months of September 2008 through August 2009.

My best wishes to Ed Breed as he takes over the club's leadership for 2008-2009. I am confident that he will do an outstanding job as president.
